To be able transform wet clay into a solid yet fluid form is extremely satisfying to me. Looping the chain ring by ring, locking them all together and once done, nurturing them till dry and fired, every step of the process involves endless care and nurturing. I thoroughly enjoy that part of working with clay.
It is this rhythmic complexity of the loops, fragile yet indestructible form and the fluidity in motion that is magical to me. My earlier works involved clay rings looped in a random manner making a maze like form that will make you wonder where the thread of the loop starts from. Today, I enjoy working in rhythmic patterns and loops that forms a fluid structure that could be deformed and manipulated like the Spiral Twists.
